DeShea Key

Early Intervention Supervisor - Midlands Office

I grew up with an uncle who has a severe intellectual disability and was later diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome. This fueled my passion to work with children with special needs and their families. I graduated from Columbia College in 2014 with a Bachelor's in Speech-Language Pathology and a minor in Leadership. Throughout my four years at Columbia College I gained many different learning experiences. I volunteered with the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice working with children in an after-school program. I was also allowed the opportunity to work in different school systems to learn about the IEP process and provided speech and language therapy to children of all ages with different needs. I started working with Palmetto Autism Interventions in June of 2014, providing ABA therapy. After much consideration, I decided to join the Bright Start team to expand my knowledge even more and share my skills with families of younger children. I enjoy seeing all the children and families I work with grow and learn everyday.
