Early Interventionist - Midlands Office
I knew that working with children was what I wanted to do, I just didn’t know in what capacity. In 2004, I began my studies at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC majoring in Early Childhood Education. I decided that I didn’t want to be in a classroom setting. I began to show interest in working with children and their families, particularly children with special needs. I started to research other possible degree options. I transferred to Columbia College in January of 2007, and majored in Child and Family Studies, with a concentration in Early Care and Education. I enjoyed learning more and more about children with special needs and their families. With my degree, I was able to learn about working with families and children from a therapy background as well as an educational background. After graduation in May of 2010, I began working at Bright Start 6 months later in September, and I have loved it ever since!
