Early Interventionist - Upstate Office
Believe it or not I did not start my college career wanting to work with children. I started as a Pre-Veterinarian major but with the encouragement of my mother and best friend I decided to switch to Psychology and attended Lander University. I graduated in 2006 with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Political Science. I had worked in high school as an After-School and summer camp counselor so I knew that I wanted my focus to somehow be children. After graduation I worked as a summer camp director with the Greenville County Recreation District and then as an After-school director for Prince of Peace Catholic School. In 2007 I joined DSS as a Foster Care caseworker. After giving birth to my son, Xavier, in 2012 I knew that it was time to make a change. Having inherited my mother’s love of working with children with special needs and disabilities I began to search for a career that would allow me to work with children of this population. I finally found a home with the wonderful Bright Start family! On my downtime I spend it with my son, our 2 cats and German Shepherd.
