Early Interventionist - Charleston Office
I grew up in western Massachusetts and became passionate at a young age about working with children who have special needs. I attended Wheelock College in Boston where I graduated with Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Child Life and concentrations in Human Development and Family Centered Care. During my two years of graduate studies, I was given the opportunity to live with and take care of a young man who had special needs, which gave me knowledge and skills for working closely with families. Prior to moving to Charleston in 2007, I was a special education teacher at a school for children with severe and multiple disabilities. I always knew I wanted to move away from the New England winters, so it was then that I decided to pursue my career as a Child Life Specialist and move south. After a few years, my heart led me to resume working in the special needs community, so it was then that I found my true passion for Early Intervention. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, kayaking, sewing and volunteering with various local groups who are committed to enhancing the lives of children and families.
