Early Interventionist - Charleston Office
I was a teenager working at a preschool in Boston, Massachusetts when I discovered my love for teaching and working with children and families. I worked at this preschool all through high school and then went on to attending Salem State University. At Salem State, I double majored in Early Childhood Education and Sociology. During college, I supported myself by working as a nanny for two elementary school aged girls. I worked as a nanny all through college and absolutely loved it. After four successful years, I graduated with honors and went on to teaching at a local elementary school. After a while, I decided to return to the preschool classroom, where I fell in love with teaching to begin with. I became a lead preschool teacher where I led and cared for a classroom of three and four year old children. After a lifetime of long winters, I couldn’t take the cold anymore so I decided to make Charleston my home. When I got to Charleston, I wanted to make a difference and start working with children with special needs. A happy coincidence led me to discovering Bright Start and I immediately knew that I wanted to be a part of the Bright Start team. I love that I am able to teach young children while also being closely involved with their families. In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, riding my bike, yoga and spending time with my friends.
