Early Interventionist - Upstate Office
I always knew I wanted to work with children, and have a special place in my heart for children with special needs. I am a gradate of Spartanburg Methodist College with a Associates of Arts and University of South Carolina Upstate with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in education. While in college I provided Applied Behavior Analysis as an ABA Line Therapist in home helping to modify behaviors and provide intensive teaching to increase language. With this job I gained lots of knowledge about Autism Spectrum Disorder and behavior modification. When I graduated college I work in a Spartanburg District 6 school as a behavior interventionist in a first grade general education classroom. I also worked as behavior coach modifying behaviors and site director for an after school program for children with ADHD, were we teach the 7 core strategies to be successful in every aspect of there life. I have extensive experiences working with children in there natural environment, so when Bright Start offered me I knew this was what I wanted to do. I am able to work with the children in their natural environment, with the involvement of the parent and while helping the family get the services they need and provide support when they need it most.
