Early Interventionist - Charleston Office
I have always been passionate about working with children, especially those with special needs. My mom being a special ed teacher, I grew up interacting with and loving the unique gifts these kids had to offer. At a young age I knew that I would be working with this population of people in some form of fashion. Throughout high school, I nannied a little boy who was hearing impaired and had autism. The summer before my senior year, he began ABA therapy. I was inspired and by my junior year at College of Charleston, I worked as an ABA therapist with the Early Autism Project. I practiced there for 2 years before I heard of Bright Start. I had just graduated college with a double bachelors in Music: Vocal Performance and Psychology when I got dinner with a friend who is an EI at Bright Start in Charleston. Being a fresh graduate, I knew for a fact I had a passion for ABA; however, I wanted to explore different occupations encompassed in my field of pursuit. After talking her, the job description resonated with me and I fell in love with the idea of being able to empower families to support their children at their crucial age of development. Bright Start is exactly where I need to be at this time in my life and I’m excited to see where these opportunities take me.
